From March 8 to May 11, 2025, Desert X returns to the Coachella Valley, turning the vast, arid landscape into an open-air museum. Under the artistic direction of Neville Wakefield and Kaitlin Garcia-Maestas, 11 international artists will explore the evolution of the desert through monumental installations that delve into memory, human impact, and future possibilities.
- A unique artistic immersion: monumental sculptures, light installations, and ephemeral architecture blending seamlessly into the desert.
- Engaging themes: Indigenous futurism, technological impact, environmental consciousness, borders, and postcolonial narratives.
- Highlight installations: an evolving vegetal pyramid, a futuristic Indigenous caravan, 3D-printed earth structures, and pieces playing with the desert’s light and shadow.
An unmissable journey where art and nature become one – perfectly complemented by an exploration of Greater Palm Springs: from natural hot springs and hidden oases to the iconic Palm Springs Art Museum, this region offers an enriching experience beyond the art.
Free admission – Installation map available from March 8, 2025, at desertx.org.
