The Lone Star State is celebrating the recognition of its hotels by the MICHELIN Keys. This distinction, which ranges from one to three Keys, is awarded by the Guide MICHELIN. It is designed to highlight properties that offer exceptional experiences, underlining their unique identity and the quality of their services.
The Keys were announced on September 12 in Austin. The Texas winners are located in the state’s major cities: Austin, the state capital, as well as Houston, Galveston, Dallas, Fort Worth and El Paso. A total of 20 hotels received awards. 17 of them were awarded one Key, while 3 establishments received 2 Keys. These are the prestigious Commodore Perry Estate in Austin, the recently opened Bowie House in Fort Worth and the historic Hotel Emma in San Antonio.
On the culinary front, MICHELIN’s arrival in Texas is also expressed by the upcoming announcement in November of the Guide’s Starred restaurants. Over the past few months, inspectors have tested numerous restaurants in Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio. Texas will thus become the MICHELIN Guide’s 8th U.S. destination, highlighting its unique gastronomy, which is a blend of traditional and contemporary flavors that reflects the state’s rich cultural heritage and the diversity of its population.
