Washington State is an ideal destination for kayakers in search of breathtaking views. This is where you’ll paddle to one of the many sparkling lakes that can be found throughout the state, or along the coastline to observe the local wildlife.
Located on the northern edge of the Olympic National Park, Crescent Lake is surrounded by the forested foothills of the Olympic Mountains. The lake is both deep (nearly 200m) and extremely clear, with visibility of up to 18m. You can rent a kayak at Lake Crescent Lodge or book a guided tour with Elevate Outdoors.
Continue on to the Kitsap Peninsula National Water Trails is the only natural saltwater trail in the United States, running along almost 600 kilometers of shoreline. It can be explored by kayak, paddle or small motorboat.
Head to the southwest part of the state, in Willapa Bay, Willapa Paddle Adventures offers guided tours and kayak rentals to meet the local inhabitants: seals, sea lions, otters, shorebirds and porpoises.
