Photography enthusiasts will find plenty to satisfy their passion in Colorado’s wild landscapes. Waterfalls in particular offer breathtaking subjects to immortalize, enough to make Instagram users dream.
Helen Hunt Falls is a popular hiking and picnic spot. The less than one mile hike is relatively easy and accessible even for the youngest.
Near the Broadmoor Hotel, the famous Seven Cascades form a magnificent series of 55-metre-high waterfalls. A 224-step staircase allows visitors to reach the top and admire them in their entirety. The falls are beautifully illuminated at night. Admission is charged, and the site is closed on Tuesdays.
Near Manitou Springs, Rainbow Falls features a breathtaking cascade that drops into a pool 14 meters below.
Visitors can park their vehicles in the parking lot and take the shuttle service, which operates from Friday to Sunday ($20 per vehicle).
The Silver Cascade Falls is a stunning roadside waterfall located along the Pikes Peak Highway. Although it is visible from the roadside, there is a short trail that leads closer to the falls, allowing you to experience the waterfall up close.
