Music is everywhere in Louisiana, anchored in the traditions and roots of every family. Spring marks the beginning of festival season and highlights the various music styles that our cousins in America are so proud of.
Festival International de Louisiane is the largest international music festival in the United States. It takes place each year in downtown Lafayette at the end of April and brings together French-speaking musicians from all over the world. Beginning April 28th, the city of New Orleans presents the unmissable Jazz & Heritage Festival, celebrating its unique culture and heritage with a great variety of musical genres including jazz, gospel, cajun, zydeco, blues and folk music.
Baton Rouge, the capital city of Louisiana also shows love for music by gathering more than 30,000 blues lovers during the Baton Rouge Blues Festival. Then head to the historic town of Natchitoches to enjoy the Natchitoches Jazz/R&B Festival on May 12 and 13, where music meets tradition and where jazz, country, rhythm & blues, southern rock and folk mix in an outstanding experience of diversity. The small town of Gonzales, self-proclaimed World Capital of Jambalaya is located on the Great River Road and invites visitors to the 56th edition of the Gonzales Jambalya Festival from May 26th to 28th, combining a wide range of experiences such as concerts, fun fair attractions and local culinary tastings.
